Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty
As we age, bags naturally form under our eyes.
These pouches, and occasionally wrinkles, appear as the fatty cushion surrounding your eyes begins to migrate. Several factors may be at work: hormonal cycle, diet, stress, genetics, etc. The fat can be removed without leaving a scar. To perform the surgery, called transconjunctival blepharoplasty, an incision is made inside the eyelid, without cutting the skin, leaving your gaze unchanged. The surgery must be performed with a CO2 laser for optimal precision and safety. The fatty pouches are then removed and your gaze regains its brilliance. |
The philosophy of Dr Alain Sabourin and his team
CO2 Laser Technique
A safe, highly accurate technique
Using a “laser” scalpel to cut the skin creates a more precise incision, with less bleeding, inflammation, bruising and pain, as the laser cauterizes the blood vessels and small, sensitive nerves that it touches. Healing and convalescence from eyelid surgery is often much quicker. The beam from the CO2 laser allows him to cut a drooping eyelid without touching it. The highly precise incision improves eyelid surgery results dramatically. When lower eyelids are being corrected, the laser’s precision allows a tiny incision to be made, with no bleeding; the fatty cushions that cause undereye bags can then be removed. Dr. Sabourin’s incision is invisible, and no sutures are needed. Dr. Alain Sabourin has been practicing in Montreal for over 20 years. |
